Residential Accommodation at Shardale Therapeutic Community
Woolfield House is a twenty six bed, mixed sex,
therapeutic community set on the outskirts of Bury Lancashire, about ten
miles from Manchester. Woolfield House is part of the Shardale Group
which is a regional company that specialises in the operation of
therapeutic communities for individuals aged between 18 and 65.
Woolfield House is located on an excellent transport link and has the

There is a total of 15 bedrooms of which ten have en suite facilities.
Six of the rooms are of shared occupancy which are for service users who
are in the early part of their treatment journey. As a service user
progresses through their programme, they will move on to a single room
with their own en suite facility. Decisions on room sharing are always
based around therapeutic need and a service user will always assessed on
an individual basis for suitability.
Most service users stay for a period of between nine months,
however, longer programmes can be arranged, if required, via the service
user’s local authority which is funding their treatment. Treatment can
also be funded by the service user themselves if they are not in
